Existentialism As defined by Sartre, existence precedes essence, i.e., people have no given identity until they have made specific decisions and have chosen their work and have thereby defined themselves.A mode of philosophy which focuses on the existing individual person; instead of searching for truth in distant universal concepts, existentialism is concerned with the authentic concerns of concrete existing individuals as they face choices and decisions in daily life.
